Pucker Up

It’s the middle of winter and the sun hasn’t been out all day in a very, very long time. The urge to dress in dark colors like gray and black are overruling those bright colors that can instantly put you in a great mood.  Giving yourself a pop of color can help you see the light at the end of the winter tunnel.  That doesn’t always mean putting on a colorful piece of clothing.  Playing with your makeup can do just the trick.

ImagePutting color on your lips can give you a confident look, and a cheerful one when it’s snowing outside. Don’t want to be too dramatic? We’re not saying you have to go bright red... even a pale pink gives you something to work with.  A glossy nude can give you a subtle, yet sheek look as well.  If lipstick isn’t your thing, a tinted lip gloss can give you a pop of color as well.

ImageIf you want to experiment with a few different colors, start with a less expensive brand so you aren’t wasting money on colors you’ll end up never using.  Burt’s Bees is a great brand to start with, and they have a wide array of colors to choose from.  Once you’ve established what color you like, investing in a more expensive brand, like Bare Minerals or MAC will give you a polished and finished look.
