Breakfast on-the-go

Breakfast has so many benefits such as kick-starting your metabolism, giving your brain energy for the day ahead, and just being delicious, but I get it. When getting ready in the morning, the last thing you’re thinking about is what to have for breakfast. I mean with all the other things going on in my life (class, exams, laundry, life) breakfast does not make it very high on my to-do list, but that was until I saw this amazing, delish, green smoothie that Lauryn from The Skinny Confidential made and I decided to try one for myself. Here’s whatcha need:

2 handfuls of baby spinach

1/2 cup of frozen berries

1 apple

2 Tbls of lemon juice

1 banana

1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk

1 tsp chia seeds

1 tsp flax seed powder

1 tsp maca powder

and TAAADAA you have the best, most nutritious breakfast. The best part is you can make it the night before, put it in a to-go mug, and grab it in the morning when you’re ready to leave.Screen Shot 2014-10-01 at 11.26.18 AM

This is just one type of smoothie that I really like and its super easy, but if you like/dislike something, you have free creative liberty to change it up. For example, some people really don’t like almond milk, so use regular milk or water instead. Just have fun with it and know you are fueling your body with what it needs.
