Pink & Gold

I think we can all agree that interior decorating on a college budget is kind of a joke. After all, there are only so many comforters that come in twin XL and furniture you can find at a tag sale (or in your parents’ attic…). I think the saying goes “beggars can’t be choosers”…?

I also believe that it’s important to make your living space a place where you can relax and enjoy, a place that’s nice to come home to at the end of the day. Maybe you can’t light a candle (#firedrills), and maybe you have Restoration Hardware taste on an IKEA budget…but that doesn’t mean your home has to be dreary or (gasp, even worse) aesthetically unpleasing.

Two of the biggest colors in interior design these days are pink and gold. (Maybe you can match your space with your wardrobe?) They complement each other in the best way, whether it’s with a bold wall and side table/chandelier…

Or a chair…

Or hanging on your wall.

And all this is possible for any girl with a jar of gold leaf and a dream (aka me…):

Yes, the entire lamp is gold-leafed…

Would you incorporate pink and gold into your space? Or do you have other colors that you prefer? Let us know!
