From your Kindle screen to the movie screen

My favorite books are always ones that become movies, and most of my favorite movies originated as books.  If an upcoming movie is based off of a book, I can’t help but read it before seeing the movie.  Buzzfeed has put together a list of 21 books becoming movies that are being released in the next calendar year and there are a few that you really need to read (and see).

#1 Still Alice by Lisa Genova

This is #1 on Buzzfeed’s list and my personal “to-read” list.  It helps that my #girlcrush Kate Bosworth is one of the leading ladies int he film.  Sounds like this book will lead to a good cry too.

#3 Where Rainbows End (Love, Rosie) by Cecelia Ahern

I love a good book about young love that hasn’t quite worked out yet.  The movie is coming out February 6th and stars my second #girlcrush Lily Collins.

#11 The Longest Ride by Nicholas Sparks

If you’re a Nicholas Sparks fan, then I’m sure you don’t need any convincing to read his latest book-to-film.  But, in case you do need some convincing the April debuting movie stars Scott Eastwood.  Yes, Clint Eastwood’s mouthwatering son.

#15 Paper Towns by John Green

Johns Green’s other novels (i.e. not The Fault In Our Stars) have been on my to-read list for a while but this just gives me extra motivation.  We have some time on this one because the movie isn’t set to come out until June and stars the ever fabulous Cara Delevingne and, my favorite from TFIOS, Nat Wolff.

I would recommend every book and movie on the list (except maybe The DUFF) as they all seem really great.  The selection above are just some highlights that soared to the top of my list.  Enjoy some reading this semester and let us know which ones you’ve read!
