Style UP Your Sportswear

October isn’t just a month full of picking pumpkins and sipping cider, but it is also a huge month for sports. Baseball is in the heat of the playoffs, football tailgates are in full swing, and hockey and basketball are kicking off preseason. Regardless of who you’re cheering for, you have to look your best while doing so!

When it comes to game day, leave the leggings in the closet. Play up your team’s apparel with distressed or boyfriend jeans. Also, feel free to go a little dressier and toss on a denim skirt. This look is very fashion forward and an additional stylish touch. Suede skirts are also a great mate to any jersey or team t-shirt.

Sports t-shirts are perfect for layering. Tailgates can often be chilly, so toss on a leather jacket, vest, or cardigan! Your look goes from basic to warm and trendy with just that simple touch. Vests layer well with long sleeve t-shirts and leather jackets with a slimmer fitting t-shirt.

Hats are also fun to play with for sporting events. From classic ball caps to winter beanies to even floppy hats, have fun with it! Floppy hats are very trendy right now and come in many neutral colors so they are perfect for fall. I also love to just wear my team’s cap and a sweater to games so I am still representing my team, but stay cozy and warm.

One of my many favorite autumn trends is the blanket scarf because they are oversized and soft, but not too heavy so they are great from transitioning from summer to fall. Layering a blanket scarf over a jersey is a very fresh, yet still sporty look. Wear blanket scarves over a more fitting top so you still you don’t completely hide your shape.

Headed to a game watch party? Dress up your look! Throw on a t-shirt dress with some booties and wrap a jersey around your waist or have it hang loosely off your shoulders. Contrast the oversized style of the jersey with a tight fitting dress or crop top. This stylish, yet sports-inspired look will definitely turn heads.

However you style up your game day, don’t be afraid to experiment and change up your look. Whether it’s the classic team logo shirt and jeans look or a shift dress and a jersey, grab yourself a brew and a slice of pizza and enjoy an autumn full of athletic action.
