The spookiest day of the year is just around the corner, Halloween! One of the most fun holidays ever because we can dress up in our craziest outfits and be accepted by society. I know that you are probably struggling to find the perfect costume, tearing apart your closet for that perfect shirt, and scanning through Pinterest to find DIY gear. Look no further for the best (and easiest) Halloween attire! Here is a list of some of the hottest costumes for 2016:
This is super easy to recreate! Just pick a fall flannel and pair it with jeans and the clothing part is DONE. If you have one, a cute floppy hat would add a nice touch to everything. Give yourself some extra rosy cheeks and use eyeliner to draw stitches on your face. Put your hair in a couple of braids and and you’re ready to head to the cornfields!
This is the one day a year when socks and sandals and Hawaiian shirts are appropriate to wear in public. Search your closet (or Goodwill) for the floweriest shirt you have, wear some jean shorts or Khakis, grab your party lei and binoculars and you’re ready for an adventure! Maybe add a fun bucket hat and some white makeup to your nose for that extra “I’ve never been here before and I’m on vacation” vibe.
Bubble Gum Machine
For those of you who are sweet, like candy, this is perfect! It’s so simple; just glue some multicolored cotton balls onto a white tank top, then glue some on a black headband, find yourself an adorable red tutu (a red skirt or shorts work just as well!), and make a 25 cents sign. CAUTION: do not let others eat the cotton balls no matter how tempting.
Butterfly Filter from Snapchat
Don’t you just love that Snapchat filter that makes you look like a butterfly goddess? Well friends, I’ve got some great news for you! All you need are some cut out butterflies, gold paper, and wire for the crown! Just glue those little winged creatures on the wire and you’re DONE! Add some gold or nude lipstick and you’re golden (pun intended).
Strawberry and Vanilla Milkshakes
This one can involve your whole crew! Find a “flavor” by picking one of your solid colorful dresses. Pile some cotton balls on a headband to look like whipped cream, add some cut up rainbow pipe cleaners for sprinkles, stick a straw in there, and add the cherry on top! So easy, so fun. You’ll be the sweet treat of the party!
Happy Halloween everyone!
