We can all relate to a time when we’ve had a closet full of clothes, yet feel as though we have absolutely nothing to wear. In a perfect world, there would be no such thing as style ruts, but let’s face it, sometimes they can be very easy to fall into and hard to get out of. When facing these times you may feel the immediate solution has to be a major shopping haul. However, with a little creativity and innovativeness, all you need to do revamp some basics that you already have. Here are a few ways I’ve done so.
The Basic: Chambray Top
The UPgrade: The way to upgrade this piece lies in a matter of buttons! Only button just a little more than half way rather than buttoning all the way to create a slouchy v-neck, off the shoulder look.
The Basic: LB(slip)D
The UPGrade: Reinvent your dresses to serving as a jumper. I paired the black dress with more black as well as stripes.
The Basic: Plain Tights
The UPgrade: Perhaps the easiest hack in the book is wearing socks over tights to make more impactful outfits (also a great life-saver for mishappen holes and runs). This options leaves great room to play around with different patterns and color combinations as well.
