’70s Style

By Maddie Clark

To give your winter style a fresh and funky update, look no further than the 1970s. Bell sleeves, chunky heels, flared pants, graphic tees, fur, fringe… the list goes on. The stand out, effortlessly cool style of the ’70s is too fun to leave behind. Just incorporating one of these throwback pieces into your look can take an outfit from drab to fab.

Start basic in a pair of flare jeans. Coupled with platforms or a chunky boot, you’ll create a legs-for-days look that’s universally flattering and retro cool. Evening looks warrant a blouse or tank of your choice but when heading to lunch with your gal pals stick with your go-to sweater or graphic tee.

A little fringe and a flowy, patterned top also inspire those feelings of peace and love and are totally adorable.

The designers at 2016 fashion week were doing it too! Hoop earrings and round sunglasses paraded across the runaway and are now making their way across city streets and college campuses everywhere.

I hope by now I’ve convinced you that its time to embrace your inner flower child.
