The Holiday Playlist

By Tori Levy

Winter break is only a few weeks away, which means hot chocolate by the fire and watching snow descend in the brisk night. Or if you’re from the south or west coast, ice tea outside watching sweat drip from your skin in the hot night (maybe a tad over-exaggerated). It’s the time of year where trees twinkle with golden lights, and it’s acceptable to wear an ugly sweater anywhere you go.

With the holidays coming up, Christmas music will be on repeat. Don’t get me wrong, I think most of the songs have a catchy tune and are fun singing. However, as much as I love “All I Want For Christmas Is You” and “Santa Claus Is Coming To Town,” it’s easy to get tired of the music quickly. So here are non-Christmas songs to get you through this holiday season.

  1. Cocoon- Milky Chance
  2. Take A Walk- The Head and The Heart
  3. City Lights- The White Stripes
  4. Ophelia- The Lumineers
  5. Waste A Moment- Kings of Leon
  6. To Her Door- Empire of the Sun
  7. Shake It Out- Florence + The Machine
  8. Home- Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros
  9. Campus- Bastille
  10. Let’s Hurt Tonight- One Republic
