Rolling in the Deep Reds

By Adzaan Muqtadir

You go to any store at this time of year and you’re immediately ambushed by a bright array of pinks, reds, and giant hearts, crafting the signature Valentine’s Day scene. Within the confines of the holiday’s designated colors, there’s still room to explore and experiment within the color range, allowing you to simultaneously fit in and stand out for the occasion.

Often overlooked, burgundy, oxblood, and wine tones are a great means of escaping the high intensity of the standard fire engine red. Being both rich and subdued, the deep reds make for a very flattering alternative for anyone.

The deep reds have grabbed the attention of the likes of UP before. Throwing it back to one of our previously featured UP editorials, I was inspired to create a head to toe burgundy look with matching pants and top to really bring attention to the color.

So when picking out your Valentine’s Day attire, show some love for the deep reds by giving them a try!
