Make One Piece Your Best Piece

By Vivian Drury

I spent most of this past Saturday vegging out in bed while looking at the season’s hottest swimwear trends. I knew the one piece was back in on the racks, but I was shocked to see the vast amounts of different styles. Now I will admit, I was once a hater on the one piece. I had this preconceived notion that one-pieces were for moms or anyone who was stuck in the ’90s. I hadn’t put on a swimsuit since I was three and Gymboree didn’t make two-pieces for toddlers. Yet after doing some research, I had an epiphany and fell in love with the one piece. Here are some of my favorite styles for this season:

I love the simplicity of this suit. The scalloped neckline and open back is super fun and flirty, but isn’t over the top. It also comes in so many colors, like hot pink, blush, teal and white. Target is usually my go-to for swimwear. It’s not outrageously expensive, so you don’t feel bad when you buy half the collection. They’re also good quality and unique styles.

Looking for something a little more sexy or unique? Check out Urban Outfitters. I found this suit on their website and am in LOVE with it. The crochet neckline is soft but also sexy and very different. Urban has so many different patterns and daring cuts and necklines, so check them out!

This is a hot damn kind of suit. I like to think of it as the updated version of the iconic red suit of Pamela Anderson in “Baywatch.” The front is very simple, but the back is a total party and definitely accentuates one’s ~assets~. Wear this to the pool party and you’ll surely be bringing the heat!

Regardless of whatever suit you pick, pick one that you feel comfortable in. Summer is about fun and celebrating and enjoying the sunshine, so find the suit that makes you truly smile.
