Weather is so confusing. Spring is so confusing. You get all excited for warm weather to come, and it snows the night of your prom (yes, that actually happened to me). Like yeah, it was 75 degrees over the weekend but there will probably be snow tomorrow.
Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE spring. Hands down my favorite season, but that doesn’t negate the fact that the weather in February, March, and April is weird. Packing for school, I brought everything from sweaters to flare pants to sundresses. It’s all too much to keep up with.
So how is one supposed to deal with this?? There has to be a more reasonable way to dress in March than shorts and a winter jacket. Well, being the innovative person that I am (AKA I spend way too much time online shopping), I have found a couple tips and tidbits for ways to dress in this crazy weather.
- Fabric Exaggerations: Wearing a thick sweater and wool skirt will keep you warm when the wind blows, but won’t overheat you in the sunshine. Vice versa, a pair of white pants and a linen top will keep you covered and comfortable, but not too hot.
- Casual Layering: The classic tank top cardigan look was meant for spring. Obviously, this does not mean wear your winter coat with a tube top; however, a light long sleeve shirt is so easy to throw in your purse for when the weather gets warmer as the day goes on!
- Skirt it UP: Wearing a skirt is a great way to avoid the weird springtime weather. You can pair it with over the knee boots or espadrilles, and the best part about them is that you can wear any type of top with a skirt! Whether it be a sweater or a short sleeve shirt, you can rock a skirt in any season.
Next time you’re getting ready to go out, make sure to check the weather. It’s easy to find a cute outfit if you know what the day’s going to be like. Springtime just means a little extra preparation!!
