Trends to Take from Paris Fashion Week

As Paris Fashion Week (and fashion month for that matter) rolls to an end, here are some tips and trends to supplement your wardrobe in the coming months. Whether it’s a dash of color, or mastering that all-white look, Parisians, as always, know how to stay on top of the fashion game.

Ruffles are back

It seems as is the current state of affairs surrounding ruffles is always up in the air. Are they in for the season, or not? But if haute couture powerhouses such as Isabel Marant, Balmain and Chloe have any say in the matter, ruffles are back–at least for now.

“Masculine Chic” is the new black

In the last few years, the pull towards women’s clothing with strong masculine influences has become more and more popular. Whether it’s a chic power suit or simply clothing with stiffer edges, dare to dress in a way that pulls the other way with a touch of girlie flair.

Mix your prints

If Paris has anything to say on the matter, it is that mixing prints is socially acceptable and cool. Although Rochas’ approach (above) is pretty bold, try contrasting florals and stripes to create a dynamic look.

As always, Paris never fails to tell us that simplicity is underrated. Whether it be a monochrome look or clean-cut lines, the power of simplicity should never be underrated.
