1. McDonald’s Fruit and Maple Oatmeal

For breakfast at McDonald’s there are a ton of options to choose from but if your feeling something sweet, go for the oatmeal with fruit, but order it without the cranberry-raisin blend. This breakfast is high in protein, calcium, iron, Vitamin C, and fiber while being low in sodium and fat. 32 grams of sugar is high, so simply cut out the cranberry-raisin bled, and you’ll lose half the sugar. That makes one yummy breakfast on the go!

How to order: No cranberry-raisin blend

2. McDonald’s Egg McMuffin

For the breakfast eaters who want something savory, this breakfast sandwich is for you. Eggs are high in protein, and there are no added ingredients in McDonald’s egg patties. There are nitrites listed in the bacon, so its best to skip out on that especially if you suffer from migraines. Skipping the salted butter and cheese will cut out half the fat. The English muffin has 5 grams of protein, 1.5 grams of iron, 140 milligrams of calcium so you might want to consider keeping it unless you are gluten-free.

How to order: No Canadian bacon, no salted butter (no cheese optional)

3. Wendy’s Baked Potato

Wendy’s is one of the few fast food places where you can order a baked potato. To make this a healthy nutrient dense meal you have to skip out on the cheese sauce. Before you start crying, hear me out, the cheese sauce isn’t made with just cheese. It has a lot of other ingredients thrown in there that account for added fat and sodium. Instead, order a loaded broccoli potato, so you’ll get a veggie-loaded lunch

How to order: No cheese sauce

4. Taco Bell Fresco Bean Burrito

By ordering the bean burrito fresco style, you’ll be skipping out on the dairy while getting 13 grams of protein, nine grams of fiber and under 350 calories. It has 55 grams of carbohydrates, but this order is entirely vegan!

5. Taco Bell Spicy Tostado

This meal is 210 calories, four grams of fiber, seven grams of protein and under 500 milligrams of sodium. Its vegetarian and $1! You can also order it fresco style to save on even more calories.
