The only colors you’ll be wearing this summer, obviously! While we saw yellow become the star of the show the past couple of seasons, these upcoming summer months will be full of soft, baby shades of blues, whites, and pinks. These colors bring out a light glow in every-wearer, pairing well with a tan and some naturally highlighted, sun-kissed hair. Some direction on various shades: go for gentle, main piece colors and a few statement pieces in white or pretty blue hues that can be carried over to various seasons.
A co-ord set in the perfect humid weather material, linen, is a bold way of incorporating these colors into your wardrobe. Starting off the summer with a bang and a pink two-piece set is the only way to start off the summer, in my opinion. To complete an outfit like this, simply include a chic pair of espadrilles and maybe a pair of cat-eye sunglasses.
Summer is full of short sleeves and 80 degree weather, but a nice chambray shirt with white shorts never hurt anyone. The soft blue looks great on any skin tone and can be purchased virtually everywhere. Playing up the denim trend in a new way as well, you really can’t deny that this button down and white jean pairing would look bad with a little gold jewelry and a summer attitude.
Not sure what to pair that slip dress with that you bought in 2016? Well no worries, you’re not out of style or making a bad choice by re-wearing that little piece in the summer months. The soft satin really makes this white shade pop and will feel great when virtually anything will stick to you due to the literally wet air. Dresses are your best friend, and a slip dress is no exception. The ease and breeziness of this outfit choice is flattering and high fashion.
Shades of these basic colors work for every season, but I have a feeling these particular colors will be the main pieces of almost every outfit this summer. A nice break from the bold rainbow colors we’ve been seeing, let these shades shape your hopeful summer mood aka light, airy, and carefree.
