Grammy winners are here, how do you feel?

Last time you were reading a blog post from me, I expressed the reason why I was upset about the Grammys. I didn’t even know if I was going to watch the Grammy’s and after this year’s Grammy’s, I think it’s safe to say that this Grammys had unexpected twists and turns. Did you watch it?

Rolling Stone

After a hectic year with all the Offset and Nicki Minaj drama, Cardi B deservingly took home Best Rap Album for Invasion of Privacy.

I am totally happy for her, the only thing is that everyone decided to make this important moment in her life about everyone except for her!

Fans and haters decided to @NickiMinaj into the Grammys conversation because she still hasn’t won a Grammy yet. Even BET got into the conversation, and Nicki Minaj did not have it!

The Root

Nicki Minaj has decided to boycott BET; they just lost their biggest headliner for the BET Awards, and I don’t feel bad for them. They should leave their messiness for the showroom, not the stage!

In other news, this years Grammys has seen more women and black people than ever.

Michelle Obama even made an appearance alongside with Jada Pinkett-Smith, Alicia Keys, and Lady Gaga.

Drake, my all time favorite, took to his mom and his bed a Grammy for Best Record of the Year, “God’s Plan.” See what I did there?

The real tea though is the rejection of performances the Grammys suffered from this year! Ariana Grande, Drake, Childish Gambino, and Kendrick Lamar all rejected the Grammys to perform at the show. Which is probably why it was so boring this year…

While Childish Gambino took home two Grammys this year, Song of the Year and Record of the Year for This is America, he actually did not make an appearance at all. Looks like someone is taking a stand.

H.E.R. won a Grammy as well for best R&B album of the year. Not to mention she was in a category with many leading women like the iconic Toni Braxton.

Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper won Best Pop Duo/ Group Performance for Shallow from the movie A Star is Born. Watch her performance here.

The Grammys have a had a problem in the past with diversifying the show, do you think they are moving in the right direction or just doing damage control?
